Lips done in coral red satin fill but the top edge where the cupid bow normally sits, thats where the sunflower petals take over. Golden yellow petals fan out from both corners and flow along the top lip line where the mouth curve would be. Two small butterflies sit on top, wings spread, done in black and gold with directional satin on each wing panel so they look layered not flat. Eleven colours total with green leaf accents tucked between the petals at the sides. Its a busy composition but it holds together well.

Bold piece. Not a subtle one. My sister bought a pale sage linen tote last year and wanted something fashion-forward on it and this was the design she picked. We stitched the 5-inch version and the coral against the sage was a really nice contrast. The butterflies at that size have proper wing detail, each one about 1.5 cm across with visible satin column lines. Honestly she couldnt have been happier with how it came out.

Stitch count runs 22k at the small end up to 52k on the largest 6.9-inch size. Cutaway stabiliser on woven fabrics, no question. The lip body is fully packed satin and the petal tips have tight column stitches, all of it needs firm backing. Hoop tight. Use a sharp 75/11 needle and dont rush past the petal edge sections because density peaks hard in those column rows. A topping mesh layer on velvet or towelling keeps everything crisp.

Pair it on black denim for maximum contrast, the coral and gold come alive against a dark ground. Works on white canvas and pale linen too. Skip mid-tone mustard or rust fabric because the golden petals wont stand out. Avoid stretch fabric entirely, the thick column stitching has no give and the lips will pucker on jersey.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
