Sunshine On My Mind laid down in three layers, like ya might doodle on a napkin daydreaming about july. The top word Sunshine flows in yellow-orange cursive. Then ON MY anchors the middle in solid black serif caps. The word mind drops underneath in red-orange cursive, kinda mirroring the top. Beach motifs float around it. A striped beach ball stands in for the O in ON, theres a half sun rising lower left, a lil star next to mind, plus three seagulls sketched up high.

Three colours run the show. Yellow-orange handles Sunshine plus the half sun. Black covers the ON MY caps plus seagulls. Red-orange does mind plus the star accent. Honestly 3 thread changes is dead easy for the look ya get, the contrast between black and warm orange carries alot of weight. Digitised in the software I use with a Tajima readout. The cursive uses satin columns so the script reads as proper hand-lettering, its not a flat font fill.

Three sizes, 2.92 to 4.58 inches across, heights 3.51 to 5.51. Stitch counts run from 6,186 on the smallest up to 10,024 on the largest. The biggest fits a standard 5x7 hoop comfortable. The smallest hoops fine on a 4x4. Drop a soft cutaway under jersey tees. Tearaway works for canvas totes and kitchen linen. Skip dark base fabric here, the black ON MY wont read and ya lose the stacked layered look.

Ive been selling this since last april and it shifts alot in spring as customers gear up for summer markets. Stitch the 4.5-inch on a cream linen bag, or a white teacher tee, or a canvas zipper pouch as a june holiday gift. Avoid busy patterned base, the overlapping script wants a quieter backdrop. One customer ordered a bunch for her daughters cheer squad warm-ups and sent me pics from poolside, it looked sharp on the pale grey jersey theyd picked.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Cream linen tote bag for summer tripsStitch the 4.5-inch on a cream linen tote front for a summer market or holiday packing bag.
  • White cotton tee shirt for beach daysHoop the 4-inch on the chest pocket area of a white cotton tee, the 3-colour design keeps thread changes fast.
  • Canvas zipper pouch as a holiday giftPop the smallest size on a canvas zipper pouch as a june holiday gift for a friend or co-worker.
  • Summer-themed tea towel for the kitchenRun the 3-inch on a flour-sack tea towel for a summer kitchen refresh or a hostess thank-you.
  • Cushion cover for a beach house spare roomPlace the 4.5-inch centred on a 16-inch cushion cover for a beach house spare bedroom.
  • Mum and me matching beach cover-upsStitch matching versions on a mum-and-daughter cover-up set, smaller on the kid one and bigger on the adult.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
