I knocked this one out around a surfboard silhouette and packed an entire tropical beach scene inside it. The board outline is a clean black satin edge, pointy at the crown, and youve got two palm trees in the upper half drawn in black line art, loose and leaning the way real palms do in a breeze. Three small bird silhouettes drift near the tip. Dead centre theres an orange-red semicircle arc, like a retro sunset, with a tiny dolphin leaping right through it. Its a lot of scene inside one shape.

Below that the whole lower section fills with layered teal wave rows in a light tatami fill, so the water doesnt just sit flat, its got that horizontal rhythm to it. And then outside the board at the base, a cluster of big chunky green tropical leaves, monstera style and palm fronds, bursts outward on both sides. Four colours total: black, bright leaf green, teal-cyan for the waves, and warm orange-red for the sunset arc. Built with proper digitising software.

Stitch count goes from 20,813 up to 42,290 across five sizes. Widths from 4.01 to 8.01 inches. A customer who runs a surf school had the large size stitched onto denim totes last summer for their junior programme and said the green leaves practically jumped off the fabric. Youll find that canvas, denim, and natural cotton twill all work well here, the high-contrast palette pops on neutral base fabrics.

Use a medium-to-heavy cutaway stabiliser and hoop firmly, the leaf satin fills need a steady base. Float a topping layer over any canvas or pique weave, the thin palm line work dosent read sharp without it. Slow your machine on the dense wave section, around 42k stitches on the biggest size, no rush on that part. Skip dark fabric if you want the teal waves to read clearly, navy and black flatten that colour out.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Beach tote bags for surf schools or summer campsStitch the 8-inch on a heavy canvas tote and use it for surf lesson kits, the big leaf cluster at the base reads well on natural or sand-coloured fabric
  • Kids beach towel corner embroideryPop the 4-inch on the corner of a beach towel in a contrasting teal thread match for a kids birthday or holiday gift set
  • Tropical-theme cushion covers for coastal living roomsCentre the 6-inch on a linen pillow accent for a coastal living room shelf, the neutral board outline keeps it versatile next to rattan furniture
  • Swim bag personalisation for swim team giftsUse the small size on a drawstring swim bag for a swim team end-of-season gift, the dolphin detail always gets noticed up close
  • Summer camp staff polo shirt left chestPlace the 4-inch on the left chest of a summer camp polo, the four-colour palette looks clean on white or sky-blue fabric
  • Beach wedding favour pouch decorationEmbroider the smallest size on an organza pouch for a beach wedding favour filled with sea salt caramels or small shells
  • Surf shop merchandise like hats and canvas pouchesStitch onto caps or canvas zip pouches for surf shop retail merchandise, the scene-in-a-shape format reads well as a logo-style graphic
  • Holiday scrapbook tote or travel bag accentAdd the medium size to a canvas travel bag or luggage tag holder for someone who takes their beach holidays seriously

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
