Surfer riding a whale, and the whale itself is doing the actual surfing here. Its 16 colours of madness on a 5.54 inch wave. Hes balanced on top of a big blue humpback launching out of curling water. Pretty wild concept honestly.
The mans got orange trunks, arms spread wide for balance, and the whales belly comes out in tan beige with crosshatch shading. Wave behind em is tall, cresting white at the top. Surf spray fills out the bottom. Beach poster vibe in the best way.
Densest part is the whale body, the wave runs about 919 density which is fine. Use a medium-weight cutaway stabiliser, especially on jersey or fleece. Hoop tight to keep those long satin lines from puckering. Skip directional stitching tweaks, its already tuned.
I made this one for the beach lover in my family, my brother is a surfer and ocean kid to the bone. Last summer he wore a tee with this stitched front-and-center the whole vacation. Suprised how many people stopped him to ask about it.
Skip dark navy fabric, youll lose the whale silhouette. Go cream, white or sand-coloured shirts, the colours sing on em. Files include 9 sizes up to 5.54 inches wide. Ping me direct if any size acts funny on your machine.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Surf-shop staff tees and merchStitches up clean on cotton tees, makes a fun summer staff uniform piece for surf shops near the boardwalk.
- Beach vacation matching shirtsMatching family tees for that summer beach trip, my mum did a set for our cousins last july.
- Kids ocean-themed tote bagsPop it on a canvas tote for kids who carry beach toys, holds up well to sand and saltwater.
- Coastal home decor cushionsCushion covers in tan or cream linen look very nice with the navy whale stitched front-center.
- Surfer dad birthday giftsDad jokes about being the captain of the family aside, this stitches well on his birthday tee gift.
- Marine biology club hoodiesMarine biology school clubs like the playful angle, looks good on a fleece zip-up hoodie back panel.
- Boys swim-trunk pocket badgesTiny version on a swim-trunk pocket for boys, kinda cute and stays put through pool days.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
