This is the kind of design where the face does all the work. Big round eyes with that slightly dopey sweetness, two stumpy ossicones on top of the head, a round muzzle in dusty rose pink, and a daisy-yellow body covered in orange-brown spots. The giraffe is sitting with legs tucked under, which keeps the whole shape compact and readable even at the 2.45-inch size. Black outline stitching runs the full perimeter and around each spot, so the contrast stays clean against white or pale fabric.

I ran the software I use for the file, which kept the spot placement so each one sits inside a clear black border without the edges bleeding into the body fill. Thread is Madeira Classic 40 throughout, 11 colours, 10 changes. The density runs at 917 density at X spi means is on the higher end for a nursery piece, it was done that way intentionally to keep the spots from looking flat. Use a cutaway stabiliser for this one, dont skip it especially if youre stitching on a stretchy interlock or jersey knit. Tearaway works fine on woven cotton or linen. Run the smallest size at a reduced speed the first time to confirm the underlay is holding clean.

A customer ordered the 3.15-inch size on a white onesie in size 3-6 months and said it centred perfectly on the chest with room either side. Thats the size I get asked about most. The 5.23-inch version works well on a nursery cushion or christmas stocking, it was actually suprised me how well the daisy-yellow reads on ivory fabric too.

5 sizes from 2.45 inches up to 5.23 inches wide, 11 colours, 15,075 to 36,005 stitches. Designed for onesies, nursery decor, and shower gifts.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • White cotton baby onesie chest panelUse the 3.15-inch size on a 3-to-6-month onesie. Hoop with cutaway stabiliser and a tearaway topper on the knit.
  • Nursery cushion or cot bumper coverThe 5.23-inch size fills a standard 12-inch nursery cushion cover well centred. Use cutaway on stretch fabric.
  • Baby shower gift bag or gift tag designIron-on cotton patch or stitch directly onto a muslin bag. The 2.45-inch size fits a small gift bag front cleanly.
  • Infant bib in white waffle cottonWhite waffle cotton bib with a light tearaway backing. Use the 2.45-inch size for standard bib dimensions.
  • Personalised baby blanket cornerCorner placement on a soft cotton or minky blanket. The 3-inch size sits nicely in a lower corner without crowding.
  • Small quilted wall hanging for a nurseryQuilting cotton wall hanging on a 6-inch square block. The 5-inch size leaves a comfortable seam allowance.
  • Baby shower favour bag on cotton muslinNatural muslin favour bags. Tearaway stabiliser behind the muslin, 2.45-inch size, hoop snug to avoid shift.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
