The mouse is standing up straight on two hind feet, holding this big orange butterfly by the wing like its trying to decide if its found a friend or a meal. The butterfly wing spread is wider than the mouses body, so it dominates the right half of the frame in that vivid monarch orange. Seven colours: warm grey, beige, pink, orange, black, white and dark brown for the outline.
Mouse body uses short directional fur stitching that shifts angle on the haunches, belly and back so it reads like actual fur texture, not a solid shape. Inner ear is a separate pink satin section. The tail curves out to the lower right in a coiled pink segmented line. Whisker detail radiates from the snout in fine running stitch. Butterfly wings use a fill that captures the vein lines in black over orange base, it doesnt look flat.
Nine sizes, smallest 2.5 by 3.5 inches, biggest 5.4 by 7.5. 30k stitches on the largest, density at 738. I think the 4-inch version is the sweet spot, the fur texture and wing veins both hold at that scale. One customer stitched this in pale sage on a nursery cushion last month and she sent a photo, looked genuinely beautiful. I get the odd message from people asking if this one comes in a bigger size for wall art, which it does at 5.4 inches.
Use cream, white, soft sage or pale blue backgrounds. Avoid dark fabric, the light grey mouse body wont read against navy or charcoal. Woven cotton and linen both suit the naturalistic style. Pick a medium-weight cutaway. Float a topping on any textured weave. If the butterfly looks washed out during a test run, swap the orange thread and message me with the file number.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
