Chubby little t-rex with a giant head, those tiny ridiculous arms, and big round cartoon eyes. The body is a deep olive-green with a lighter cream-ish belly and the thick outer outline gives it that classic cartoon character look. At 7.46 inches wide and 7.5 inches tall its basically a square design at full size, and it stacks up to 30,100 stitches with nine colour changes built in. The smallest 3.48 inch version still reads clearly because the outlines are thick enough to hold.

I worked the body fill with directional stitching so the texture goes with the contour of the dinosaur rather than just a flat fill, which honestly makes the scales and belly sections look alot more dimensional. The eyes have a highlight layer over the dark iris which is what gives it that cartoon shine. Each section is digitised separately so you can actually swap in different greens or go full pink dino if your kid wants something wild.

Send this to me if you want colour changes or any tweaks, Im happy to adjust the file. For best results use a tearaway or cutaway stabiliser depending on your fabric. Fleece and jersey need cutaway because they stretch, cotton and canvas can take tearaway. Hoop tight because you dont want the whole thing shifting by the time you get to the tail when youre doing all those colour swaps.

My kids dinosaur obsession basically inspired this one. Ive sold quite a few of these to parents doing birthday party custom shirts, the small 3.48 inch version on a plain navy jersey tee looks realy sharp for a dino-themed party. One customer made a matching set for six kids at a party and said the cutaway on jersey held perfectly through the wash before the event.

Stitch it on white or sage green cotton for the clearest colour read on those nine shades. Send me a note if anything in the file doesnt work right and Ill fix the file.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Kids birthday party custom t-shirtsBirthday party tee on navy jersey at 3.48 inches: the thick cartoon outlines hold crisp even at the smallest hoop and the dark base makes the olive body pop
  • Dinosaur-themed nursery hoopsKids winter hat crown panel: the compact square footprint at each size fits a hat front without needing to adjust placement by eye
  • Children's backpack and bag patchesCanvas school bag back flap at 5 inches, the chunky outline reads as a proper patch graphic rather than a fine embroidery piece
  • Baby blankets and fleece throwsWhite fleece baby blanket corner at 4 inches, the plush fabric mirrors the chunky rounded character style and makes the whole thing feel cohesive
  • Kids hats and beaniesFramed 6-inch hoop in a dinosaur-themed nursery where the oversized head and tiny arms are the entire joke and it lands every time
  • Classroom craft projects on feltBirthday cake topper made from thick interfacing cut close to the outline, attached to a bamboo pick; the bold satin outline holds the shape cleanly
  • Dino birthday cake topper fabric toppersFelt patch for a classroom cut-out project: stiff craft felt with cutaway underneath, the nine-colour build teaches kids about colour sequencing mid-project

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
