Four butterflies, each a different colour, purple, rose pink, silver grey, and lavender, sit inside curved wing-shaped outlines that form one big butterfly silhouette around the whole design. Thats the frame. Then right in the centre, stacked line by line in that bold chunky rounded lettering, it reads "Take every chance drop every fear." The text sits in satin stitch with a dense directional fill and a slight underlay pass underneath, which is what keeps those thick letterforms crisp even on softer fabrics. Five sizes from 3.5 to 7.5 inches wide, and honestly the range covers alot of placement options.

Stitch the large 7.5 inch across a canvas tote back or a denim jacket back panel, its got enough real estate to really land the quote. The 4 inch drops onto a bibbed apron pocket without crowding the edge, nice and balanced. Pop it on a cotton fleece hoodie front, hoop it with a cutaway stabiliser and topping on terry or any looped fabric, the tatami fill on those butterfly wings needs that extra grip or the loops pull through. A tight fill on the butterfly bodies gives them a slightly raised look against the flat background, its kinda satisfying when you pull it off the hoop.

A woman who runs an embroidery booth at craft fairs told me last week she stitched this onto cream linen tote bags for a graduation market, sold out before lunch. I get that, its one of those designs where the words do the work, the butterflies just make it pretty. Pair it with a light pink or white base fabric and those 4 butterfly colours really pop, especially the purple against natural linen. Use a stabiliser that matches the base weight, lightweight tearaway on woven cotton, cutaway on any stretch jersey.

Skip heavy topping on the quote letters themselves, the satin stitch is tight enough that it dosent need it. Place the design centred both ways on any square-ish item and it reads as a complete composition, the curved wing outlines basically act as a natural border. Iron the stabiliser tabs flat before hooping, gets you a cleaner result every time on thicker canvas or twill.

Holler at me if the outline wont sit clean.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Canvas tote bagTote bags handle the full 7.5 inch wide print without any crowding, loads of room to breathe.
  • Denim jacket backThe back panel of a denim jacket is basically made for a design this wide, centred between the shoulders it looks intentional.
  • Fleece hoodie frontFleece hoodies want a cutaway stabiliser underneath, otherwise that butterfly tatami fill gets shifty on the loops.
  • Linen wall hoopA linen wall hoop at the 5 inch size shows off all 4 butterfly colours beautifully against the natural weave.
  • Baby bibThe 4 inch sits on a bib without pushing into the edge seams, just enough quote for a little one.
  • Pencil casePencil cases in cotton twill are underrated for word art, the satin letters stay sharp wash after wash.
  • Cotton apronAn apron front in canvas or denim twill takes the mid-size well, hoop it with cutaway and it wont pucker.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
