Back in april a customer wrote asking for a teacher appreciation design that wasnt just boring text on a plain hoop, so I put this together in response and it became one of my most consistent sellers around end-of-year gifting season.

The word 'Best' is written in a loose flowing black script that sits right on top of a large red apple outline, so the lettering and the apple share the same visual space rather than stacking awkwardly above and below. A dark leaf crowns the apple stem, and two small green star accents sit either side of it. Then 'TEACHER' hits in solid bold charcoal block letters underneath, and a golden-amber pencil runs horizontally across the bottom with 'EVER' printed on the barrel and a purple eraser cap at the right end. Its the pencil detail that makes it feel a bit more original than the usual apple-and-text combo you see everywhere.

Six colour changes in the sequence. Back with poly cutaway on most fabrics since the dense block lettering at 575 stitches per cm2 needs solid support. Stick to tearaway on woven cotton if you dont want to fight with cutaway on a flat tote. Drop the needle speed slightly on the letter fills or youll get uneven satin rows at the 7-inch size, which runs to 21,995 stitches. Smallest at 2.01 inches is 5,201 stitches and works well on badge-size patches or tote pockets. Reach out if you need help choosing the right stabiliser for your fabric.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Teacher appreciation tote bags and canvas shoppersNatural canvas or cotton drill holds the satin fills cleanly at medium density.
  • End-of-year gift pouches and zipper bags for school staffA customer used the 4-in face on a lined zipper pouch with a red thread apple for a end-of-year gift.
  • Classroom aprons or bib aprons for school eventsStitch on a sturdy canvas apron with cutaway backing for classroom cooking events.
  • Teacher mug cosies and coffee sleeve coziesSized down to 2 inches it fits a mug cosy panel with room to spare on either side.
  • Back-to-school iron-on patches for student giftsOn a pre-made patch blank with a heat-seal backing, drop it on any bag or jacket.
  • Personalised book bags or reading bags for a favourite educatorBook bags with a firm woven base stitch this one out beautifully without puckering.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
