Mocked up this one as a proper icon mosaic where every single supply item is actually drawn out, not just suggested. The heart shape is made up of maybe 12 to 15 individual school supply pieces arranged around the perimeter: a round yellow paint palette with red, blue and black colour blobs at the top left, a pair of gold scissors, a blue set square protractor, a yellow ruler along the bottom, a fat red marker and a blue marker, an orange eraser, a small red apple, a white calculator face, a push pin, a magnifying glass, and a few white paperclips tucked between the other items. Small red hearts scatter in the gaps so the shape reads as a full heart without leaving blank space.

And then right in the middle, the word Teacher in a clean flowing black cursive, not fancy but proper handwriting style, sits centred on a gentle curve. Its the kind of lettering that looks like it was actually written, not typed. Nine colours in total, five sizes from 2.66 by 3 inches up to 6.19 by 7 inches, stitch count 7,938 at the smallest to 21,913 at the largest. Density is 506 stitches per square inch, so its on the lighter end for a nine-colour piece and stitches faster than youd expect.

A customer ordered five of the medium size last june, one for each class teacher at her kids primary school, and told me the scissors and ruler detail at the 4-inch size were still clear and recognisable. Thats the trickiest bit with icon-heavy designs. I drafted the path order so individual icons stitch first, the items are well-separated so colour changes are clean.

Best on white, cream or pale grey fabric so the nine colours all read at full brightness. Use a light to medium cutaway stabiliser, the lower stitch count doesnt need heavy backing but you do need even hooping. Hoop tightly and keep a steady tension on the fine cursive stroke in the centre, its only one thread layer and it shows if the fabric shifts at all. Skip busy or dark patterned bases, the nine-colour mosaic needs a plain backdrop to read properly.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
