Sweet lil teacher flat lay piece for ya. Stack of three hardcover books, the top one is buttery yellow, middle is sage green, bottom is pastel pink. A long yellow pencil is tucked horizontally between the books and tied off with a soft pink bow that drapes down over the spines. To the right sits a leopard print to-go coffee cup with a pink plastic lid and a tiny heart printed on the side. Done in flat watercoloured fills with light pencil shading on top.

I digitised this one with 14 thread colours and nine sizes, smallest is 1.38 inches wide and the biggest goes 2.95 wide by 7.5 inches tall. So its a tall narrow design, fits brilliantly on a tote panel down the front or up a sleeve. The yellow book and the leopard cup are the busiest fills, around 1,044 stitches on the cup alone. I get messages from teachers ordering this for staffroom mug bags around back to school week in late august, theres a clear bump every year.

Best stitched on cotton canvas, denim or a sturdy linen tote. Avoid lightweight tees because the long pencil shape pulls if the fabric is thin. Add mid-weight cutaway, hooped firm, no floating allowed. Skip the tearaway here, the density on the books will tug the weave through if youre not anchored properly. Run the machine at three quarter speed when the leopard spots stitch, those tiny shapes need clean trims.

Pop a layer of water soluble topping on top of the canvas before you stitch, it keeps the bow ribbon from sinking into the texture. Im fond of how the pink bow has a thin satin column outlining each ribbon edge, so density there is decent. Theres a clean stitch order baked in, books first in their colour order, the bow lays over them last as the bridge. Ive run it on denim a bunch of times and it holds up seriously well.

Drop me a line on chat if you grab this and the file errors out, ill recut and resend within the day.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
