The heart is whats different about this one compared to other teacher apple designs. Its not just an apple sitting under a rainbow, theres a clean white heart shape cut right into the front face of the apple, like the fruit itself is offering up a heart. The rainbow behind it uses just 3 solid arcs in yellow, dark green and red, no polka dots or textures, very clean and graphic. Running along the inside edge of the innermost red arc theres a parade of small orange hearts spaced evenly all the way around. Over on the right side a cluster of tiny school icons, a graduation cap, a letter B, a book, scissors, the letter A, all scattered in a loose pile. 8 colours total, 7 colour changes, very manageable on any home machine.

Stitch counts are light for this one. Smallest size is 2.25 by 3.51 inches at only 5,886 stitches and even the biggest at 4.81 by 7.5 inches is 15,960 stitches. That light density means it's brilliant on fabrics that dont play nice with heavy designs. Linen, cotton muslin, canvas tote front panels, fleece. Tearaway stabiliser is fine on all of em at this density level, you dont need cutaway unless youre going on jersey. Low stitch count also means fast stitch out, its a suprisingly quick run on the machine even at the bigger sizes.

Last week my sister, a high school librarian, asked me for something to put on her tote bag, the one she carries to and from school every day. Stitch it on her tote and she gets compliments straight off. Pop the 4-in placement for a coffee cosy for a teacher gift. She wanted something that said teacher but with a heart feel rather than a pencils-and-rulers vibe. She sent me photos after, the heart reads crystal clear even on the 3.51-inch small size because of how the white cutout pops off the red apple. Put this on a tote front panel, a canvas book bag, a fleece zip pouch, or a muslin gift bag and it lands right every time.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Teacher carry tote bag front panelStitch the 4.81-inch on the front panel of a cream canvas tote for a teacher who carries it daily, the heart apple sits centre and reads from a distance.
  • School library staff personalisationRun the 3.51-inch on a white canvas book bag for a school librarian, pairs well with a name embroidered below in a simple sans-serif font.
  • Canvas book bags for reading teachersEmbroider the 4.81-inch on the front of a canvas book bag for a reading specialist or english teacher who loves a heart motif.
  • Teacher appreciation muslin gift bagsUse the 2.25-inch on a small cotton muslin gift bag for a teacher appreciation present filled with sweets or stationery.
  • Fleece zip pouches for school gift setsStitch the 3.51-inch on the front face of a cream fleece zip pouch for a cosy teacher gift set alongside a notepad and pen.
  • Cotton apron pockets for art teachersPop the 2.25-inch on the pocket of a cotton art teacher apron where a smaller motif works better than a full front panel design.
  • End-of-year student thank-you giftsUse the 3.51-inch on a canvas gift bag as a student end-of-year thank-you, the heart reads as a genuine sentiment not just decor.
  • Classroom door sign fabric backingEmbroider the 2.25-inch on a cotton fabric panel and mount it to a classroom door name sign frame for a warm welcome display.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
