Pulled this one together specifically for the teacher gift crowd after I kept seeing requests for something that had the rainbow and the apple in one design instead of two separate files. The arch is the focal point: 4 bands of colour stacked inside each other, red on the outside edge, then pink, then aqua, then yellow at the innermost curve. That outermost red band has a row of white X accents stitched over the top, which gives it that kinda cross-stitch-within-satin texture people really like. This summer a customer ordered it for six canvas tote bags as end-of-year gifts for her daughters whole teaching team and sent her snap of them all lined up. Looked really nice.

Seven colours total: Red, Pink, Aqua, Yellow, Black, Brown, and White. Six colour changes, 7 stops, 34 trims at the smallest hoop. Density is set at 928 which is on the higher side, so the arcs come out smooth and opaque even on a medium-weight cotton drill. Stitch range is 6,648 at 1.62 inches up to 25,363 at 4.2 inches wide. Use a medium tearaway on firm tote canvas. Pop a cutaway underneath knit fabrics so theyre not pulling at the arch ends. A lightweight tearaway topping helps the fills sit cleanly on textured weaves like canvas duck. Dm me if youre using this for the first time and want advice on thread substitutions since not every brand stocks the exact aqua shade. Ive got a working list of alternatives for Madeira and Gunold if you need it.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Teacher gift on a canvas tote bag or zippered pencil pouchThe 4-inch build placement on a canvas tote with tearaway stabiliser makes a great end-of-year teacher thank-you.
  • Back-to-school tee shirt chest placement for a child or teacherHoop a cotton-poly blend tee at centre chest with the 2.5-inch file and medium tearaway for a kid's back-to-school look.
  • Classroom storage bin label patch sewn onto a fabric basketStitch the 2-inch on a felt square with cutaway and sew it onto a fabric storage bin for classroom label use.
  • Primary school backpack pocket embellishmentThe 1.6-inch fits neatly on a side pocket flap of a standard backpack with a floating hoop and cutaway.
  • hoop wall piece display for classroom wall or reading cornerA 3-inch version in a 5-inch round natural linen hoop makes a cheerful classroom display piece.
  • Cotton apron front for a school crafts or art teacherThe 4-inch on a cotton apron bib with cutaway stabiliser gives an art teacher a durable wearable gift.
  • Card topper or gift tag on a stiff felt backingCut the smallest size from stiff adhesive felt and attach to a gift tag for a back-to-school bundle.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
