Thick thighs and valentine vibes. Its a fun one. Chunky rounded block lettering, the kind of font thats made for a hoodie rather than a greeting card, and the whole thing leans into the body-positive humour that sells really well in the valentines niche right now. Not subtle, not meant to be.

2 colours in the design, bold text in the main shade and a small accent element in a second. The letterforms have decent density so the text reads clearly even in the smaller sizes. Stitch count is around 9,500 at the bottom end and about 23,000 stitches at the full 7 inch width. 5 sizes total, from 3.4 inches up to 7.2 inches wide.

Ive been selling this style of humour text design since around february last year and the 'thick thighs' phrase in particular keeps coming back around. People love it for galentines parties, self-gift culture, that whole thing. Customers tell me theyre buying it mostly for sweatshirts and tote bags.

Stitch on medium to heavier fabrics for the chunky text to look its best. Cotton fleece, sweatshirt fabric, canvas, heavy twill all work well. Use a cutaway stabiliser for sweatshirt fabric or youll get text distortion when the hoop pressure releases. The satin fill areas in the letterforms need that support underneath.

Pick a thread colour that pops off your base fabric since the boldness of the font is the whole point. Light colour on dark or vice versa, dont try to be subtle with this one. Works on dark fabrics with light thread or cream on navy for a retro varsity look.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Galentines day sweatshirtsCentred on the chest of a plain crewneck sweatshirt in red or pink thread on white cotton for a fun galentines top.
  • Humour valentines tote bagsA 6-in piece on a canvas tote makes a great valentines gift for friends who appreciate the humour.
  • Self-care gift pouchesStitch the smaller size on a flat cosmetics or self-care pouch for a fun bodily-autonomy themed gift.
  • Bachelorette party matching topsMatching tops for a bachelorette group using the same size and colour combo make for great party photos.
  • Cotton valentine pillow coversA 5-in placement on a blush or white cotton pillow cover is a cheeky bedroom decor piece your mates will notice.
  • Custom hoodie personalisationFor custom hoodies use the largest 7 inch version centred on the chest with a bold contrasting thread colour.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
