Heres the thinking baby donkey and hes the most sulky lil foal Ive ever digitised. Big round eyes pulling that sideways glare. Tiny frowny mouth. The mane sticks straight up in messy black tufts and the tail flicks out behind with a fluffy black brush at the end. Honestly the pose reads like he just got told no.

Four colour design and the lavender-grey inside the ears is what sells it. Body fills run soft creamy grey with white highlights on the muzzle and belly. The black outline goes thick and inky which lends the donkey a proper storybook weight. Shading isnt fancy. Its just enough to make him feel solid without losing that hand-drawn look. Resist the urge to swap colours, the pale lavender against warm grey carries the whole vibe.

Drew this one for a buyer back in march who wanted a sad-cute foal for her daughters first birthday quilt. She kept saying she wanted atleast 4 inches tall on the tiniest hoop and nothing too cheery. Think weve hit those notes. Her sewn sample came back stunning on cream cotton and questions land in my inbox alot about it for nursery work.

Stitch on smooth woven cotton or pale brushed flannel for cleanest read. Pop on white, oatmeal, mint or soft pink fabric so the lavender ear hits properly. Stay off charcoal and ink-blue grounds, the soft palette dies on it. Heavy minky needs upping the underlay alot or the outline sinks into the pile.

Density runs moderate at 33k stitches on biggest size, 12k on smallest. Run medium cutaway underneath for tee work or quilt blocks, lightweight tear away holds up nicely on bibs and burp cloths. Hit my dm if the file misbehaves on your hoop and ill rework it before bedtime.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
