Its a tiger eye so close up you can see every strand of fur around it. The iris is this deep amber-orange bowl with a black vertical pupil sitting dead centre, and industry software digitised the whole iris as concentric satin rings so it actually has that glossy wet look. White highlight dot sits at the top left of the pupil, about 1k stitches of white thread just for that one glint.

The fur radiates outwards from the eye like a sun burst. Black stripes cut across the orange base in thick directional runs and the lighter silver-grey patches sit above the brow line. All six colours work together and the density on the biggest size hits 97k stitches so your machine needs a proper mesh cutaway underneath, no shortcuts on stabiliser here or the fur details will pucker.

And honestly this one surprised me when I first stitched it out on a navy fleece. The orange just jumps off dark fabric in a way that doesnt come through in the preview image. I been selling wildlife close-ups for a while and the tiger eye consistently gets the most messages from customers asking about the iris technique. One buyer last month stitched the 7-inch size on the back of a black denim jacket and sent me photos, looked like a proper screen print but with texture.

Best on dark fabrics, charcoal, black, deep navy, dark olive. Run a medium speed on the eye sections, the satin column iris has 5 colour changes in quick succession and you want the bobbin tension settled before it flies through those. Avoid stretchy jersey on the big size, the density is too high for knit fabric.

Stitch counts run from about 37k on the 3.51-inch up to 97k on the 7.48-inch across 9 available sizes. Holler at me if the file gives your machine trouble and ill send a reworked version by end of day.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
