Sketched this one out for customers who wanted something winter but not really locked to christmas. Its a single-colour design, all run in one thread stop, no colour changes at all. The snowflake on the left is the big statement, geometric arms with open satin columns and a detailed centre starburst. The text flows in casual calligraphy script down the right side, Tis the Season to Sparkle, the letters leaning into each other with nice thick satin strokes on the capitals. On a navy pillow cover this reads like gold metallic or white thread would work just as well as the sky blue in the sample.

Im a big fan of single-colour designs for busy digitisers honestly. No stopping to swap thread, no re-hooping, and the bobbin side stays clean because theres only one stop. industry software is what I used for the digitising, and the snowflake gets directional satin so the arms look crystalline rather than flat. Stitch count goes from 9,437 on the 3.5-inch smallest up to 18,988 on the 7.5-inch largest. I Back cutaway on stretch fabrics and a standard tearaway on wovens. Dont underestimate the underlay on the snowflake centre, thats where distortion shows up first if the stabiliser is too light.

A customer sent me a message last november asking if this would work on a dark navy pillow. I told her to go for it with white thread instead of blue and she came back saying the contrast was exactly what she wanted. Run it on fleece with a topping if youre going that route, the script letters need a firm surface or the loops collapse a bit.

Use a cutaway on any stretchy fabric. Add topping on towelling or fleece. Stitch on pillow covers, sweatshirts, or winter totes at the 5-inch to 7.5-inch range. Pick a metallic thread colour if youre going for the sparkle idea literally. Best on tightly woven fabric where the snowflake arms keep their crisp column shape.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Winter and holiday throw pillow coversthe 7-in size fills a 20-inch pillow cover centre nicely, use white or gold metallic thread on navy for a strong contrast.
  • Christmas sweatshirts and hoodiesCentre the 5-in build on a sweatshirt chest, use cutaway stabiliser on the knit so the snowflake arms stay flat.
  • Festive tote bags for winter marketsStitch on a kraft canvas tote at 5 to 6 inches for a winter market bag that stays useful past December.
  • Embroidered winter scarves and wrapsthe 3.5-in build fits across a wide scarf end without crowding the edge, use tearaway stabiliser on the woven fabric.
  • Holiday gift bags and fabric pouchesRun on a drawstring pouch or small fabric bag in the 3.5-in build as a tag-replacement for winter gift wrapping.
  • Winter table runners and placematsThe 7-inch version covers a table runner width well, use a stabiliser cutaway on cotton canvas to prevent buckling.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
