The deer and the tree are the same thing, that's the whole concept. A stag standing side-on, but when you look close the body is entirely made of bare winter branches, the kind that fork and thin out at the tips. The legs are thick root forms that widen at the bottom, the neck is a cluster of upward-reaching branches, and the antlers just continue the same bare branch pattern so its hard to tell where the antlers stop and the body starts. All done in a dark green thread on a white or cream ground, which makes it look almost like a botanical illustration.

Theres a flat ground line at the base, a simple grass mound that anchors the stag so it doesnt float. The composition fills nearly square, 5 inches wide and almost 5 tall on the smallest size, up to 8 by 8 on the largest. Stitch count runs from 18,885 to 31,490 across 4 sizes. Density is a comfortable 507, so the branch fills dont get heavy or shiny, they sit flat with a nice matte finish that reads like pen-and-ink illustration work.

I had a guy come to me last november who decorates hunting cabins and lake houses. He wanted something for flannel throw pillows and cabin crew neck sweatshirts that said outdoor without being a camo pattern. This one was exactly what he needed, comma he came back and ordered the same design on fleece blanket panels for christmas gifts. The nature double-image thing resonates with people who spend time outdoors, hunters, hikers, anyone who keeps a cabin.

Stitch on cream, oatmeal or white cotton for the cleanest result. Run a light tearaway on woven fabric, switch to a medium cutaway on fleece or any brushed fabric where the branch tips might pull on the surface. Hoop firmly, the longest branch tips on the antlers reach near the edge of the design boundary and loose hooping causes waviness there. Pair the 8 inch on a large throw pillow or a sweatshirt back panel. Pop the 5 inch on a chest pocket or a patch for a canvas camp bag.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
