This tribal butterfly doesnt look anything like a butterfly illustration you'd find on a kids tee. The wings are sharp, spiked, almost aggressive, like flame points shooting outward from a central body. Its symmetrical but the symmetry is tight and controlled, the way a tattoo flash design sits. Deep black forms the main body and wing structure, and hot rose pink cuts through it in thin jagged lines and pointed sections, like cracks of colour splitting the dark apart.
Two colours, 36,987 stitches on the largest size and 12k on the small end. The design is wide and fairly flat because of the tribal structure, so it sits best on flat woven fabric where the density doesnt get distorted. I done this one specifically for the tattoo studio crowd and people wanting something bold on a jacket, the pointed spike tips need room so the bigger sizes really shine.
People have been buying this for denim jacket backs, yoga leggings panels, gothic wedding accessories, I was suprised by how many tattoo studios ordered it for their staff aprons last autumn. One customer used the 6.8-inch size on a black leather jacket back panel, she sent photos and the rose pink against black leather looked like it belonged there. Honestly one of the better stitchouts Ive seen for this design.
Stitch on black or charcoal. The hot pink simply disappears on pale fabric. Use a firm mesh cutaway stabiliser because the density peaks at 725 stitches per square inch, anything lighter risks the wing spikes pulling at the fabric edges. Pick a slow stitch speed on the narrow pink sections, those are satin columns and they sit close together.
Email me if you want a single-colour all-black version and I can pull that from the file for you.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
