My go-to 'trick or treat' text design for anyone who just needs the classic phrase without fuss. Three stacked lines, chunky rounded letters, no illustrations, nothing extra, just the phrase itself at 3.5 x 3.32 inches in a single colour with 6,756 stitches. Ive sold this design on trick-or-treat bags more than any other item and it holds up after dozens of washes which is more than I can say for iron-on transfers.
Density sits at 90 which is quite light and open for a chunky display font, the letters fill without feeling stiff or heavy, and the rounded corners of each letterform stitch cleanly at this scale. Use medium-weight cutaway stabiliser on canvas bags and fleece items, tear-away works fine on standard cotton tee fabric. Avoid over-tightening the hoop on lightweight cotton as it can cause the fill sections to pucker at the edges.
I get messages every october asking for a clean bold trick-or-treat text without bats or pumpkins cluttering it up, this is exactly that. Run it in black on orange canvas or orange on black for the classic look. Im also fond of white on deep burgundy for a more grown-up feel on adult tote bags. Stitch the whole run in a single thread pass and youre done, single colour means no stops, no colour changes, just continuous stitching all the way through.
Pick jute bags over canvas for outdoor use if kids are dragging them along pavements, the looser weave handles abrasion better and the design still reads sharp on the natural fibre texture.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Trick-or-treat candy bag frontTrick-or-treat canvas bag front, this is the design I point people to when they ask for something that holds up after kids drag the bag along pavements.
- Kids halloween costume toteKids costume tote for a school halloween parade, rounded letters read clearly from a distance and the single colour keeps thread cost minimal.
- Halloween cotton tee chest designHalloween cotton tee chest design, density 90 keeps the fabric feel genuinely soft against kids skin through repeated washing.
- Seasonal canvas shopping bagJute shopping tote for an adult who joins in on trick-or-treat night as the bag carrier, orange or white thread on dark jute both look appropriate.
- Halloween sweatshirt kids designKids sweatshirt left chest, add topping on fleece or the rounded letterform corners will soften into the pile.
- School event party favour bagsSchool event favour bag production run, single colour through the whole batch means no thread changes and consistent results across every bag.
- Orange canvas halloween bucket bagBeach towel corner for a halloween beach bonfire event, the compact near-square sits in a corner without eating the whole textile.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
