Worked up this one after I kept getting requests for something tropical but still properly christmassy. Its a lil scene: palm tree on the right, loaded with red and green baubles, a hanging stocking, a star at the top, a bunch of festive bits dangling off the fronds. On the left stands a pink flamingo, one leg up the way they do, wearing a tiny red santa hat. Theres a wrapped present sitting at the base near the sandy ground. The whole thing reads like Christmas decided to take a beach vacation, ya know.

Seven colours in total: sand for the ground, pink for the flamingo body, white for highlights, black for the eye and beak detail, dark green for the palm fronds, red for the hat and baubles, and orange for the star. Six colour changes and nine sizes available across five size options going from 3.51 inches wide topping at 7.51 inches. professional tools handled the colour layering, with directional satin on the flamingo feathers and a dense underlay on the palm trunk so the brown thread covers cleanly. At 45,595 stitches on the largest size, this is a proper full-colour scene rather than a quick logo job. Use cutaway stabiliser on knit garments, the stitch density will pull light fabrics without it.

One customer grabbed the 5-inch hooped onto an aqua tank top last november and said it was the most-commented piece she wore all december. The pink flamingo thread against that turquoise background had a kinda vintage postcard thing going on. Pop a topping on towelling if youre using that fabric, the fronds are thin satin columns and they sink fast without it.

Stitch on a flat weave first to test colour stops. Use a cutaway for anything with stretch. Skip dark navy on this one unless you swap the pink for a brighter flamingo thread. Add tearaway backing to stiff fabrics like canvas before you hoop. Best on mid-weight wovens or quilting cotton where the density doesnt warp the piece.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Tropical-themed Christmas shirts and tank topsThe 5-inch size centres cleanly on a shirt chest, use cutaway stabiliser on knit so the seven-colour density doesnt cause puckering.
  • Beach Christmas party tote bagsStitch on a canvas tote in white or natural for a beach-christmas market bag, the palm tree reads well on light backgrounds.
  • Holiday kitchen towels with a warm-weather twistThe 3.51-inch version fits a standard tea towel border without crowding, use tearaway on the cotton weave.
  • Novelty Christmas aprons for bakersCentre on an apron bib in cream or sky blue, the character scene fills the panel without needing a border around it.
  • Festive throw pillows for coastal-style home decorUse the 7-inch size on a 20-by-20 pillow cover in white linen for a bold tropical christmas statement piece.
  • Christmas stockings with a tropical spinThe smaller sizes work on stocking cuffs in white felt, hoop with cutaway to stop the dense stitch count distorting the cuff.
  • Holiday tote bags for markets and gift shoppingStitch on a natural drawstring bag for a reusable festive shopper that stands out from the usual red-and-green options.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
