Its a wide landscape-proportioned tropical beach scene, so horizontal where most embroidery designs are square or portrait. Three palm trees are the main structure, one taller one in the middle-left and 2 shorter ones flanking the sides, all in that dense navy-almost-black fill that reads like an old travel woodblock print. Between them the setting sun sits right on the horizon line, a solid orange disc with rays fanning outward behind the palm trunks.

In the background theres a suggestion of small rocky islands on the water surface, just low dark shapes in navy. The water itself uses horizontal stitch lines rather than fill which gives it a ripple texture on linen. And way up at the top a string of seabirds cuts across in a loose arc, maybe 8 or 9 small flying shapes in navy that tie the whole sky together. Only 3 colours, 2 colour changes, and stitch count runs 7,278 at the smallest run up to 19,703 on the 5.5-inch wide version. Last summer a customer put the 4 inch placement on a white linen shirt and said she wore it on every beach trip that season. Thats exactly the kind of design this is.

Works on anything light. Pop it on white, pale blue, sand or natural cream and the navy and orange combination reads clearly. Skip dark base fabrics unless you swap the navy thread. Canvas, cotton twill, linen all stitch well. Use cutaway on knit fabrics and go slow on the palm frond sections where the density is heavier.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Beach and holiday tote bagsThe wide landscape format sits perfectly across the front of a canvas beach tote without needing any resizing
  • Summer and vacation apparelOn a white or pale linen shirt this reads as a proper vintage travel-print piece, the kind people stop you to ask about
  • Coastal home cushion coversStitch on a cream or sand cushion cover for a coastal living room that needs a seasonal accent
  • Travel-themed denim jackets and shirtsWorks on the back panel of a denim shirt or the shoulder of a light jacket as a travel-memory patch
  • Wall hoop art for a coastal or beach-house spaceFrame at 4 or 5 inches on natural linen in a driftwood-style wooden hoop for a beach-house hallway piece
  • Tropical bar or cafe uniform itemsThe simple 3-colour palette is easy to customise for a tropical bar or beach cafe staff shirt without looking too busy
  • Surf shop and beach-lifestyle merchPairs well with any surf or beach-lifestyle brand because it reads as retro travel art rather than a generic beach graphic

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
