I made this one as a four-colour scene, the whole tropical sunset in just four thread stops. Coral-orange sun, amber-peach sky, black palm silhouettes, and a cerulean ocean strip. The simplicity is intentional. At density 112 and nine sizes from 3.5 7.5 in across wide the scene reads clearly at any size, even the smallest. Stitch count goes from 1,195 at 3.5 scaling to 40,757 at the full-size 7.5-inch size. Its a solid mid-range stitch count, not a quick stitch at the larger sizes but its well within a standard machine session.

Digitised in professional digitising software with the ocean and sky sections using horizontal satin rows so the scene has that flat graphic look, no shading blends, just clean layered fills. The palm silhouettes are a single-pass dense fill on each frond, which means theyre sharp even at the 3 in start size where detail can get muddy. Ive run this on cotton canvas, denim, and lightweight cotton poplin and it holds well on all three. Use tearaway on firm wovens like cotton twill and canvas, cutaway on anything with a stretch component. Check your machine frame dimensions before you hoop the 7-in face size, the horizontal orientation means you need a wider frame than the height would suggest. Stitch the sky section first and run a tension check before the sun disc fill.

I had a customer last summer order this for a set of beach-theme tote bags she was making as bridesmaid gifts, she did the 5-inch size centred on natural canvas and said the coral sun colour was exactly right against the raw linen background. Alot of people aswell use it for cushion covers, beach towel corners, and vacation-memory keepsake hoops. Position this on natural or cream fabrics when you can, the coral and amber colours read warmer and more vivid on light backgrounds than on dark ones. Avoid anything darker than a mid-grey for the background because the blue ocean band doesnt read well against dark fabric.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Centre motif on canvas beach tote bagBeach canvas tote for a bridesmaid gift set, a customer centred the 5-inch scene on natural canvas and said the coral sun colour was exactly right.
  • Hoop art travel memory framed pieceHoop art travel memory piece, the flat graphic style suits a minimal rectangular frame on cream linen at full size.
  • Front panel on summer zip pouchSummer zip pouch front, position the sun slightly above the panel centre so the palm trunks dont disappear into the zipper.
  • Corner accent on beach towel hemBeach towel corner accent at the small size, tearaway on tightly woven cotton and pull gently from the hem edge.
  • Cushion cover centre on outdoor sun loungerHoliday-theme table runner repeated at intervals on cream cotton, run a spacing test on paper first to get the palm trees level.
  • Left-chest placement on linen beach shirtOutdoor cushion for a sun lounger, the four-colour graphic style holds up through outdoor use with cutaway on any synthetic blend.
  • Repeat panel on holiday-theme table runnerLinen beach shirt left chest at 4 inches, hoop tightly so the horizontal landscape scene doesnt tilt on the loosely woven fabric.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
