Tropical Sunset Beach with Palm Trees Embroidery Design, Instant Download

This one is the wide horizontal version of my tropical sunset, full colour and packed with detail. The big red sun sits behind three tall palm trees that stand on a small rocky island. A surfboard stands upright in the sand right between the trunks, and you can see lil black silhouette birds gliding across the sky. The horizon strip shows aqua water, the sky layers orange and yellow stripes, and the foreground island sits in a soft grey.

Stitched out it covers about ten and a half square inches at the largest size, so theres a bunch of detail to admire up close. The thread chart calls for eight separate shades, including a hot red sun, two warm sky shades, aqua water, light grey island, white surfboard highlight, plus the deep black palm and bird silhouettes. The palm fronds use directional satin so the leaf veins actually catch the light.

I made this one for a customer last june who wanted something for a summer cruise gift bag, and shes since reordered it twice for her sisters bachelorette weekend in florida. Its been popular all summer for beach totes, surf shop merch and family vacation matching shirts. Good for older kids backpacks aswell.

Settle the design on smooth tightly-woven fabric, ten ounce canvas tote, mid-weight cotton tee, or denim, every option holds the colour blocks cleanly. The stitch count climbs to nearly fifty thousand at full 7 inch size so back it with sturdy cutaway, hoop drum-tight, and skip towelling or chenille because the long horizon lines need a flat surface to sit straight.

Pick light or mid-tone backgrounds so the orange sky and aqua water still pop. Cream, sand, light denim, dusty mint all flatter the palette nicely. Trim jump threads as you go between colours, theres about thirty one of them and leaving them alone makes the back of the work look messy when its turned. Slow the machine to about 600 spm on the densest sun fill aswell.
