Heres the silhouette version of my tropical sunset and its kinda the moodier sister to the wide beach scene. The whole thing is shaped like a round dome, with solid black palm trees flanking a half-circle sun and rays of magenta, marigold, and lemon yellow bursting out behind. Theres no birds, no surfboard, just clean silhouette work set against a punchy summer-sunset palette.

I drew it specially for embroidery, the palms are pure black silhouette so they read crisp at small sizes, and the rays underneath fan out in three layered colour bands. Six threads in the chart, and most of the stitch budget goes into the black silhouette work and that dense ground line, roughly sixteen thousand stitches sit in the black thread alone.

One customer wrote me last summer asking for cap-sized silhouettes for her beach bar staff shirts and shes the reason I sized this down to 3.5 inches. Its been a popular pick for retro vacation tees, hawaiian shirt pockets, and tropical themed cornhole bag merch. Couple of customisers ordered it for tiki bar napkins.

Run this on smooth cotton or a linen-cotton blend, the silhouette nature means the black needs flat even fabric to keep tree edges sharp. Hooped tight with a heavy cutaway works well, and topping really helps on slightly textured fabrics like waffle weave or pique. Skip towelling, that horizontal ground line sinks into terry loops every time.

Cream, white, soft yellow or even sand-coloured fabric flatters the magenta-orange palette best. Avoid red or hot pink backgrounds, the rays start fighting the fabric. To customise it for a beach bar logo, leave 1 inch clear underneath when you hoop, gives ya space to add a name in chain stitch or a small script font without crowding the design.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
