Dm me if you want a mirror version or a different colourway, but as it stands this designs genuinely clever. Its an acrostic: the first letter of each row spells a word vertically in red satin, then the rest of each word continues in royal blue block caps. T-ruth, R-eally, U-psets, M-ost, P-eople. Five stars arc above and five below, and thin bar rules in both colours run top and bottom to frame the whole block. The word play is subtle enough that it takes a second look to catch it, which is exactly what makes it memorable on a garment.

Two colours, one colour change. Youll want a medium cutaway stabiliser behind woven fabrics or a firm one behind t-shirt jersey to keep the column satin letters from pulling. The red satin on the initial letters is particularly dense so dont rush those sections. Run them at around 600 spm to get clean edges on the column sides. Stitch counts go from 8,221 on the chest piece up to 19,883 on the largest 7.5 x 6.36 inch version, and theres good coverage across all 5 sizes.

One customer bought a batch for tote bags, hats, and denim jackets. My niece stitched the mid-size onto the back of a trucker hat last summer and it got so many comments she had to explain the acrostic to people about a dozen times. Stitch the star rows first, then work top to bottom through the text for the cleanest registration.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Political statement tote bags and canvas shoppersThe 7.5 inch wide version centres on a canvas tote and the two-tone column satin reads really well on natural fabric.
  • Trucker hats and structured cap back panelsThe mid-size 5-inch version fits a trucker hat back panel or a structured front panel with room around the edges.
  • Denim jacket sleeves or back yokeOn a denim jacket sleeve the vertical stacking of the acrostic design reads naturally when the arm is raised.
  • Crew-neck sweatshirt chest placementAcross the chest of a crewneck sweatshirt the full-width version makes a proper statement from a distance.
  • Zip-up hoodie front panelOn a zip-up hoodie left chest panel a 3.5 mini size works as a more subtle badge-scale placement.
  • Funny gift idea for politically opinionated friendsMakes a great gag gift for someone who appreciates the double meaning, works on a plain shirt or canvas pouch.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
