Two big orchid-type blooms sit at the center and everything else spirals away from them. Thick black tendrils curl out to the left in those classic Victorian scroll shapes, tight little circles at the ends. On the opposite side the stems thin out into wispy grass-like lines with tiny bead clusters dotted along them. The whole thing reads as a wide horizontal spray, weighted heavier on the left than on the right edge.

The flowers are filled solid in aqua teal with short satin stitches running across each petal. Where the petals overlap you get a slightly deeper shadow effect from the stitch angle, which is a nice touch. White sits in at the center of each bloom to break up the fill and stop it looking flat. Then black outlines wrap around every edge with that same thick brushed quality you see in the scroll stems. Honestly it looks like someone drew it with a brush pen and the colour just appeared inside the lines afterwards.

A customer putting this on a black tote last spring told me she nearly went with a lighter bag but the dark background is what made it. That teal pops against black or navy in a way it doesnt on white, so thats worth knowing before you hoop. Skip patterned fabric too, the scroll tendrils need a clean ground behind them or they disappear.

Pick a stable woven for this one. Those curling tendrils have a lot of directional jump stitches between elements and a spongy knit wont hold the registration between the black outlines and the teal fill. Use a firm cutaway under woven cotton or a canvas tote to keep everything locked in place. Hoop it taut and the outlines stay crisp all the way to the very tips of those curls, its one of those pieces where the hoop tension actually shows in the finished result.

Stitch range across the four sizes is 19k to 30k, so density is solid without being punishing. All three colour stops are fast: aqua in first, white highlight second, black outlines last. Theres no specialty thread needed, its all standard polyester or rayon. Text me if the registration on the scroll tips gives you trouble and I'll look at it with you.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Structured tote bags and canvas shoppersA black canvas tote with this centred on the front panel is the kind of bag people stop to ask about
  • Denim jacket back panels and sleevesWorks on a denim chore-coat back or upper sleeve where the wide horizontal spread fills the space without looking cramped
  • Boho-style cushion coversStitch it on a cream or sage linen cushion cover and it fits right into that relaxed boho living room look
  • Salon and spa uniform topsSits nicely on a spa or salon polo in a chest or shoulder placement, keeps it professional but with character
  • Botanical wall hoop artHoop in a 7- or 8-inch round frame, trim close to the design edge and hang it as botanical wall art
  • Gift bags and fabric pouchesScaled to the 5-inch size it fits on a flat fabric pouch or small gift bag front perfectly
  • Floral-themed wedding favour itemsThe aqua and black palette pairs naturally with white or sage ribbon for a botanical-themed wedding favour bag

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
