This is one of those designs where the character is doing all the work. The cat is drawn in that chibi anime style, round head, giant circular eyes, tiny body, everything slightly too big for everything else. The unicorn horn is a small spiral on the forehead, and theres a rainbow-style swirl inside the ear in purple. Around the outside youve got these scattered pastel teardrop shapes in mint green, sky blue, pale yellow and soft pink, almost like the cat is sitting in a magical bubble of colour. Eight colours total, black outlines, warm brown fur base.

my digitising suite mapped the fill sequencing cleanly on this one. The big thing with kawaii-style designs like this is the eye detail, those large circular fills need good hooping or they register slightly off and the black outline doesnt sit right. The underlay holds the white eye base flat before the dark detail stitches go on top, so you get crisp eyes at even the 3-inch size. Density at 743 means theres alot of coverage, its a full solid stitch across most of the design.

Ive had good results on fleece and on cotton jersey. Customers keep asking about kids items specifically, birthday gear, backpacks, that sort of thing. Suprised me how popular it is on toddler items too. A customer texted a finished onesie shot last december after running the 6-inch on a white denim jacket for a kids birthday, came out really sharp. Stitch the teardrop shapes at a slower speed if your machine jogs at colour changes.

Use cutaway stabiliser on any knit or fleece, its non-negotiable at this stitch count. Add water-soluble topping on any textured fabric, especially fleece or velour, so the detail stitches stay above the surface. Skip heavy tearaway on jersey, it wont hold the hoop tension at 35,000 stitches. Best on white, pale pink or cream fabric so all 8 colours read properly.

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Children's backpacks and school bagsCentred on a backpack flap or front pocket in the mid 4-in, holds well on polyester canvas

  • Fleece blankets and throwsThe soft pastel colours work perfectly on white or pale pink fleece blankets
  • Girls bedroom cushion coversCentred on a plain cotton cushion cover, the scattered teardrop shapes frame it nicely

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
