Ten colours, a spiralled gold horn, big lashes. This is the kind of design that gets a kid absolutely obsessed with a piece of clothing. The unicorn peeks upward with its mane cascading out, lavender and pink and mint strands, and big round eyes with long lashes. White body, gold horn, rosy cheeks, teal iris in the eye. Ten distinct colour stops in the run, stitch count from 16,026 at 3.49 inches up to 39,270 at the full 7.48 inches. Density at 699 which is medium-firm and gives the satin fills solid coverage without puckering on lighter fabrics.

Stitch this on cotton jersey or interlock knit for kids garments. Ten colour stops means this takes longer to run than simpler designs, but each colour is clearly separated in the file so colour changes are easy to follow. Hooped with a cutaway stabiliser on stretch fabric is non-negotiable here, the fill density at the 39,270 stitch mark needs solid support or the knit underneath distorts. Use a water-soluble topping on velvet or fleece if youre after definition on the fine mane strands. Dont swap adjacent mane strands to the same colour or the flowing rainbow effect falls apart. Add extra hooping pins if youre working on a very stretchy jersey and youre getting pulling at the edges.

Last january one customer recieved the file and stitched the full 7.48 inch version on the back of a childs hoodie for a birthday gift and said her daughter wore it every single day for two weeks. Smart idea honestly. Five sizes from 3.49 to 7.48 inches. The small 3.49 inch version on a hair clip backing fabric or a badge is suprising how much detail it still holds at that scale.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
