This one is the mermaid unicorn mashup. Ya get a unicorn face with that tall lime-yellow horn, but the flower crown is replaced with a big teal scallop seashell, and the stars scattered around are purple and teal instead of gold. 5 colour changes, and 5 sizes from 3.5 to a 7.5 size. The 5 inch version is around 11,000 stitches. Ive sold alot of these to parents doing ocean-themed birthday parties and summer kidswear.

The seashell is the trickiest element to stitch well. Ive digitised it with satin columns that follow the fan ridges, so each ridge reads as a separate line and you actually see the shell texture rather than just a flat teal blob. The horn uses underlay passes to keep the yellow-green thread dense and opaque, good if youre going onto darker fabric like a navy shirt. Use a cutaway stabiliser for kids clothing made from cotton jersey or interlock knit. For woven cotton and canvas tote bags a tearaway will do fine. Hoop the fabric grain-straight and press before running, the design is wide at the largest size and skew hooping shows up on the shell symmetry.

A customer dropped off a stitch-out photo last summer of this stitched onto a girls swim bag in white canvas with a coral pink horn swap, and it looked brilliant. Pair on white, sand, pale aqua or soft coral base fabric for the most beach-friendly feel. Pick a 6x10 hoop or larger for the top 9 sizes. the 3.5-in run is popular for kids caps and works without any special topping on structured hat fabric.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
