Just the flag. No fancy border, no eagle on top, no distressed texture underneath. Its the American flag as a clean embroidered patch-style design, the kind that works on practically anything patriotic you want to make.

3 colour build, navy handles the canton, red fills the wide stripes, and white takes both the narrow stripes and the fifty-star grid. The canton has all fifty stars in the proper staggered layout, nine rows alternating 6 and five. Comes in five sizes from 2.5 to 5 inches wide. Stitch counts run from 6,825 at the smallest up to around 16,002 at full size.

Every may and early june I sell a bunch of these and the orders keep coming through july. A customer of mine who does custom gear for veterans organisations told me she buys this one regularly for shirt runs because the proportions hold even on the small 2.5 inch version and the detail in the canton doesnt get muddy.

Pair it with navy, white, or a natural canvas fabric and the colours sing. Skip busy patterned fabrics, the detail in the canton gets lost fast against a print.

Use a cutaway stabiliser for the best density hold on the star fill area, its the tightest section. Avoid pulling the fabric too loose in the hoop or the stripes will shift. Ping me if youve got questions about sizing for a specific project and Ill help you pick the right one.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • 4th of July shirtsA 4 or 5 inch hoop run on a plain white or navy tee is the go-to for 4th of July family matching sets.
  • Memorial day hatsThe 2.5-inch run on baseball cap sits cleanly on the front panel without overpowering the hat shape.
  • Veterans organisation apparelRepeated on a batch of polo shirts for a veterans group or fire department it reads as sharp and respectful.
  • Custom patriotic gift totesStitched onto a plain canvas tote alongside a name or date it makes a personalised patriotic gift.
  • Patriotic baby onesiesThe smallest size on a white cotton onesie works for a newborn patriotic holiday photo setup.
  • School spirit event shirtsOn a plain navy shirt for a school spirit event the flag placement on the chest reads clean in group photos.
  • Denim jacket patchesIron-on backing added after stitching makes a clean removable patch for denim or canvas jackets.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
