A round little gnome wearing a tall striped USA hat, one hand holding a sparkler and fireworks bursting in the background above. The hat has proper red-and-white stripes with a navy blue star band at the top, and the gnome body underneath is mostly that big grey beard which is the classic gnome silhouette. Six colours total: red, white, navy, gold for the sparkler, grey for the beard and a skin-tone for the tiny nose peeking out. Not overcrowded, the whole thing reads clean even at the 3-inch size.

Sizes go from 2.99 wide by 3.5 inches tall at 15621 stitches up to 6.4 by 7.5 inches at full 34,898 stitches. Density is 727 per square inch, lighter than a wildlife portrait, which makes this run quickly on most machines. Ive put the 5-inch onto a navy t-shirt last july 4th and the patriotic stripes on the hat really stand out against the dark background. A customer whos been doing holiday market stalls for years ordered several sizes for a full tee-and-tote set that week and said it was her fastest seller of the day.

Layer a medium cutaway stabiliser for t-shirt fabric and any stretch base. Tearaway handles woven cotton and canvas without any issue. The my usual software build keeps the stitch sequence sensible so the beard fills first and the hat stripes overlay cleanly on top. Hat edges stay sharp without a topping on smooth woven fabric, and thats usually all you need for this one.

Run the 5-inch onto a red t-shirt for a 4th of july outfit. Pop the 3-inch run on a canvas bag as part of a patriotic gift set. Add it to a kitchen apron bib for a cookout theme, its a fast stitch at that size. Use the largest size on a table runner centre panel for a holiday table setting.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • 4th of July t-shirt or tank topThe 5-inch version centres on a t-shirt chest and the stripe detail stays sharp on cotton jersey with cutaway backer.
  • Patriotic canvas tote giftA 3-inch run on a canvas tote pairs with other patriotic designs for a coordinated holiday gift.
  • Holiday kitchen apronStitch the small 4-in on an apron bib centre for a 4th of july cookout themed gift.
  • Seasonal table runner or placematThe tall format works well on a linen table runner repeated across the length for a holiday table.
  • American themed kids clothingKids sizes from 3 inches work on onesies and bodysuits with tearaway on cotton knit.
  • Independence Day craft market itemsGroups with star and flag designs for a patriotic craft market table with matching items.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
