Lips shape filled with the american flag, stars panel sitting in the upper left corner of the lip, red and white horizontal stripes running across the rest. Dark outline holds the whole lip form clean and the flag pattern inside is tight and readable even at the smaller sizes. Its a fun design, doesnt take itself seriously but it stitches sharp.
Four colours only, navy blue for the stars canton, bright red for the stripes, white for the alternating stripe bands and the star field, and a dark charcoal outline around the lip silhouette. The density is 1,133 which gives the finished piece real substance and the stripes read cleanly without bleeding into each other. I digitised the stripes with proper underlay so they hold their edges, the satin fill on each one is crisp.
My daughter saw this one and asked me to stitch it on her denim jacket for the 4th of july weekend last summer, so thats the first test I did. Looked great on white denim. After that I put it in the shop and it sells every summer season aswell as year round for patriotic apparel makers. Five sizes from 3.5 inches wide max 7.5 by 4.91 inches at the full size.
Stitch count from 14,939 to 41,717. Use a good cutaway stabiliser, this design has dense layers with the flag fill and the outline combined. White, light denim, cream and pale grey fabric work best so the red white and blue palette reads true. Skip dark navy or black background fabric, the dark outline disappears and the stars section blends into the background.
Stitch it on the chest of a white tee, a jacket pocket or a canvas tote and youve got patriotic fashion that doesnt need a slogan to communicate what it is.
