Pulled this together after a customer kept asking for something funny but still patriotic, not just a plain flag design. Its a big curly handlebar mustache packed with the stars and stripes inside the shape itself. Left side fills in dark navy with white stars, right side runs bold red stripes at a diagonal. And under the whole thing sits "'MERICA" in thick blocky text that doesnt take itself too seriously.

Theres 1 colour change and 17 trims in the 2-inch version, so your machine handles it without alot of stops. The satin stitch on those letter edges holds up clean even at the smallest 2.01-inch width. The file came out of embroidery software at 464 density so the fill sits flat on cotton twill, doesnt puff weird or pull the fabric out of the hoop. Biggest pushes to 7 in wide at 12,389 stitches, still just 2 colours throughout.

So the colours are Dark Blue and Red. Nothing else. That constraint is kinda the point. Stitch it on a navy cap and the red pops hard. Stitch it on a red tee and the blue side holds the read. Works both ways because the palette is already the flag.

Best results on medium-weight woven fabrics. Use cutaway stabiliser under anything stretchy. Topping isnt usually needed unless youre on a heavy pique or fleece, in which case a thin water-soluble layer keeps those directional satin stitches from sinking into the nap. Skip the topping on smooth poplin. Hooped tight, this thing stitches out fast. Back in early July last year a customer ran the 5-in build for a set of matching red bandanas for a whole family 4th of July thing and shared the picture, turned out really well.

Holler at me if something looks off with your file and Ill sort it right away.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • 4th of July caps and visorsStitch the 3-in centre on the front panel of a structured dad hat for a clean 4th of July look.
  • Patriotic t-shirts and tank topsWorks great centered on a white or navy tee, the 5-inch size fills the chest without going overboard.
  • Father's Day gifts for dads who love Americana humorOne customer ordered this on a canvas apron as a Father's Day gag gift and said her dad wore it all summer.
  • BBQ aprons and kitchen towels for summer cookoutsThe 4-inch version fits nicely on a standard kitchen towel with room to spare.
  • Patriotic tote bags and reusable grocery bagsPop it on a denim tote panel for farmers markets or summer picnics.
  • Costume accessories for Independence Day partiesAttach it as an iron-on patch to a hat or vest for 4th of July costume parties.
  • Denim jackets and patches for patriotic eventsThe 7-inch version works well as a back patch on a denim jacket with cutaway stabiliser behind.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
