Its a typography design and its done in that thick retro serif style you see alot on 70s era beach shirts. The word VACAY sits front and centre, big block capitals with a chunky satin fill. Behind it theres a lighter ghost repeat of the same letters, kinda like a layered shadow. Then right below the main text the word mode swoops in as a casual script, lowercase and loose. Total stitch count tops out around 12,890 on the largest 7-inch size, drops to just under 5k on the smallest.
Single colour, which makes this one dead simple for anyone just starting out with machine embroidery. No thread swaps, no colour changes to manage, no stopping mid-hoop. And because its one solid burnt orange it pops hard on white and cream fabrics without fighting itself. Pop the biggest size on the back of a beach coverup and the script sits beautifully.
I made this specifically for summer custom merch and honestly it moves well all year round. One customer from florida has been ordering batches every spring since last summer, she puts em on linen tote bags for her shore shop and they sell out the same weekend. Been filling her orders for 2 seasons running now.
Best on flat woven fabrics like cotton twill, canvas, or chambray. Skip any stretchy jersey for the lettering because the satin columns can gap under tension. Use a medium tearaway stabiliser on stable cloth, hoop snug so the block letter outlines stay crisp. Smallest 2.1-inch size is great on a hat panel or a small pocket square.
Stitch it on white or oatmeal sand fabric and the orange really punches. Light grey works too. Dark colours wash it out since theres no contrast outline in a second thread. Holler if the download gives you any trouble and ill sort it quick.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Summer tote bags for beach vendorsShore shop sellers report this moves fast on linen tote bags the first sunny saturday of the season.
- Custom vacation crew matching teesVacation group tees where everyone picks their own shirt colour but the chest design matches across the whole crew.
- Hat and cap embroideryHat crown placement at the smaller hoop size keeps the satin columns crisp without any topping film needed.
- Linen coverup or sarong panelsBack yoke of a loose linen coverup reads resort-ready and adds no bulk to the garment at all.
- Travel pouch personalisationSmall zip pouch for beach bag essentials, sunscreen, lip balm, cards. The single colour stitches fast on canvas.
- Pool party favour bagsDrawstring bags as pool party guest favours. Batch-stitching 10 at once is manageable with one thread loaded.
- Craft market summer merchandiseSummer craft fair vendors stock this on cream pouches because the retro script sells to everyone from teens to grandmas.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
