Its a vintage pickup truck, round cab, chunky fenders, the whole retro shape, hauling a Christmas tree in the back. The tree extends well past the roof of the cab, like whoever loaded it wasnt too worried about traffic. Tucked all through the branches, and on the side of the truck door, are small hearts scattered around. Thats the Valentine part. Single satin red outline all the way through, no colour breaks, so the whole thing reads as one solid shape from any distance.

She sent me a photo of this stitched red thread on a red sweatshirt and I had to zoom in just to catch all the hearts hiding in the branches. Up close its a love story, from across the room its just a Christmas truck. Thats a neat trick for single-color work. Stitch it at the 3-inch size on a sweatshirt chest and leave the hearts to be a little secret detail people notice later.

Pop a tearaway under quilting cotton or denim. On knits go for a cutaway because the satin outline stitches need something firm behind them or they pull with the fabric stretch. Use a 75/11 needle on lightweight knits. Five sizes, just under 2 inches wide up to just over 4, so you can fit it on a shirt pocket or run it large on a tote bag without losing any of the heart detail in the tree.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Valentine Christmas crossover gifts for December and FebruaryStitch at the 3-4-inch piece on a sweatshirt chest for a Valentine-Christmas crossover gift that works both seasons.
  • Holiday sweatshirts and hoodies with a love themeAt the 2-inch size it fits cleanly on a shirt pocket without losing the heart details in the tree.
  • Quilted Christmas wall hangings or fabric panelsUse red thread on cream or white quilting cotton for a two-tone holiday panel that photographs really well.
  • Tote bags for Christmas tree farm visitsCanvas tote bags carry the full 4-inch size well; the truck silhouette reads clearly from a few feet away.
  • Pocket detail on flannel shirts or denim jacketsDenim jackets take satin stitching well, use a denim needle and back it with a cutaway stabiliser.
  • Christmas stocking decoration for romantic householdsCenter on a stocking cuff leaving space above and below; the tree extending past the truck helps fill vertical space.
  • Kids room pillow with a vintage vehicle themeOn a kids room pillow the single-color outline keeps it graphic and bold without looking too grown-up.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
