A chubby little gnome with a hat thats basically bigger than his whole body, holding a heart or wearing one on his outfit. People see this one and immediately go 'I need that on a pillow'. Four colours: red for the hat and heart details, cream for the little figure fill, grey for the beard and shadow, black for the outlines. The density is 858 which is on the higher end, the rounded body has real substance to it once stitched.
Sizes go from 3.51 inches wide to 7.51 inches, heights from 2.88 to 6.16 inches, 5 sizes. The gnome is wider than he is tall at the smaller sizes which gives him that squat round character. Stitch counts run from 15,625 to 39,672. My daughter helped me pick the hat angle on the original sketch for this one and she voted for the bigger hat, which Im glad about, it really makes the design. Mapped in my digitising suite with proper underlay on the rounded fills.
Layer a sturdy cutaway stabiliser underneath because the density is 858 and you need the backing to hold through all those stitches. Dont try tearaway on knit or jersey with this build, the stitch density will pull the fabric. On smooth woven cotton or canvas, a firm tearaway works fine. Press wash-away film if stitching on minky or velvet so the beard detail doesnt disappear into the pile texture.
Use white or cream as your base fabric to really see all 4 colours cleanly. A red base with cream thread for the figure works as a reverse colourway. Customers have stitched this on everything from onesies to christmas stockings and it reads well at all 5 sizes. The smaller 3.51 inch size fits on a pocket or hat front perfectly.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
