Its a heart that looks like it could actually float away. The balloon shape is rounded and plump, fatter than a regular heart outline, with a little ribbon or string tied off at the base like its actually been blown up and knotted. Smooth satin coverage at density 345 gives it that clean solid look without the stitches crowding each other. Three thread changes, so theres some dimension in there, not just a flat single-tone balloon.
I ran this in 5 sizes from 3.01 inches wide ranging to 7.01 inches wide, and the heights go from 1.69 inches on the small version, climbing to 3.93 inches at the large. Stitch count starts at 2,262 and tops out at 9,496 at the biggest size. Its honestly one of the lower-count designs Ive got, which makes it a fast stitch and good for production runs. Digitised in my main software with a solid underlay so the satin columns sit right. Pop a soft backer underneath, the satin fill needs that support to keep its shape on stretchier fabrics like jersey.
This valentine design gets ordered alot in January and early february, which makes sense. One customer wrote me after stitching it on a white onesie for her niece and said it came out perfectly at the 4-in face. Pop it on blush pink cotton, cream linen, or navy jersey and the red balloon pops nicely. Avoid busy patterned fabric unless youre doing a contrast look on purpose.
Use a wash-away film topping if youre running this on any kind of textured fleece or waffle knit so the satin stays tidy. Hoop nice and tight, a loose hoop on satin fill can cause the columns to drift.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
