Its basically a heart shape filled in with arched colour bands stacked from top to bottom, like a proper rainbow but squeezed into a heart silhouette. The outer edge is crisp, the bands are separated cleanly, and the whole thing reads really clearly even at the smaller 3.51 inch size. Stitch count runs from around 10,947 up to 29,959 at the 7.51 inch version, so its a solid amount of thread work for a clean graphic design with just 2 colour families in play.

I digitised this with tight satin fill across each colour band so theres no gaps or loose threads between the sections. The colour changes sit at each band boundary which honestly makes swapping in your own colour palette realy easy if the customer wants something non-traditional. Ive done this design in navy and gold for a school and it looked great. The directional stitching follows the arch so the bands have some sheen to em.

Stitch it on cotton twill or canvas for the cleanest look. Use a good cutaway stabiliser underneath because the density across 5 sizes goes up alot toward the larger end and you dont want any puckering on your base fabric. The 4.25 inch version hooped on a standard 5x7 frame works fine for tote bags and pillows.

One customer ordered this for a nursery pillow last valentine and said the rainbow heart looked better than she expected in person. Its that kind of design where the colours really pop against white or cream fabric.

Skip dark backgrounds unless you add a white underlay layer first. Holler if theres any issue with the file and I'll sort you out.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Valentine's Day pillows and cushion coversAnniversary cushion on a cream linen cover: the clean hard edge and arched bands read as something bought, not made, which is the highest compliment
  • Kids tote bags and backpack patchesNursery wall hoop at 7 inches on white cotton, the rainbow palette sits neutrally with almost any nursery scheme and outlasts the baby phase
  • Nursery wall art hoopsBaby onesie at 3.51 inches on white interlock, the crisp outer edge holds at that size because the satin bands follow the arch path precisely
  • Baby onesies and bodysuitsKids backpack patch on canvas, the colours are bright enough to personalise without being overwhelming against the bag fabric
  • Romantic anniversary gifts on linenDog bandana at the small size on folded cotton, the wide silhouette looks centred even on a triangular fold
  • Classroom valentine party projectsClassroom party project on white felt squares: density 776 means the felt has real body after stitching, not floppy
  • Pet bandanas and dog accessoriesDecorative napkin corner for a valentines or anniversary dinner table, the retro graphic look photographs well in flat-lay setups

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
