This one sits in the corner, not the centre. A big solid red heart anchors the lower right, densely filled with satin stitching, and from the top of it a curling black vine scrolls upward and out to the left in long sweeping arcs. Four small red accent hearts sit scattered along the vine like they grew there. Its got that baroque ornament quality, the kind youd see on old valentines day stationery or a calligraphers card border. Three colours only: red, black, white highlight. Clean and strong.

The vine lines are thin satin column work, which is where the suprised reactions come in when people first stitch this. Folks expect thin lines to be bean stitch or running stitch, but these are proper filled satin columns, narrow and precise, and theyre what makes the scrollwork read crisp at every size from 3.51 inches right up to 7.51 inches. Stitch count is modest, 7,543 on the smallest and 17,144 on the largest, so your machine doesnt labour at all. I built this for corners and edges where you want elegance without filling the whole space.

If you want to use this for a tablecloth or napkin corner stitch it on white linen and the red and black read beautifully formal. I get messages from bridal calligraphers and stationery makers who use this on handkerchief gifts, the corner placement means nothings obscured when the fabric is folded. One customer told me she stitches it on every handkerchief she sells through her bridal boutique since last valentines. Pair it with a matching monogram in the centre. Use a medium tearaway on woven linen or cotton, hoop the corner carefully with the design centred on the hoop registration point. Oval or square placement. Either works.

  • Pillowcase corner decoration for a romantic bedroomStitch the 4.5-inch on the lower corner of a white pillowcase for a subtle valentines bedroom accent.
  • Tote bag corner accent for a valentines gift bagPop the corner design on the lower front of a cream canvas tote so it looks like a wax-seal style detail.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
