LOVE in four big chunky block letters, each one filled with a completely different fabric pattern so the whole word reads like a patchwork rather than one uniform piece. L is pink with a small red grid check across it. O gets the most attention, its yellow inside with large raised red polka dots that sit proud of the surface. V is a solid deep red with close diagonal stitched lines running through it. E is purple-to-pink with oversized white polka dots. Heavy black satin outlines around every letter, and theres a small filled red heart tucked into the junction where V and O meet.

12 colours and 30k stitches on the biggest size, so this is genuinely a complex stitch-out. The density sits at 1108 per square inch which is on the heavier side, brill for denim and canvas, a bit much for lightweight shirting without a topping. Each letter is basically a separate applique section with its own underlay and cover stitch, so the machine will pause several times for colour changes. Be ready for about 12 thread swaps if you run it straight through.

Sizes run tall: narrowest is 1.71 inches wide by 3.51 high, widest is 3.65 by 7.51. So this is more of a tall banner layout than a wide one. Put it on a tote handle panel, a pillow edge, or run it down the leg of kids jeans. One customer stitched the big version across the front bib of a canvas apron last february and sent a photo, it looked exactly like a retro diner sign.

Works best on firm woven fabric like denim, canvas or thick cotton. Float a layer of topping if youre going onto textured fabric so the polka dot fills dont sink. Place firm cutaway stretch or any fabric that shifts during hooping. Drop me a note if the underlay on the O is shifting and Ill fix the underlay.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Canvas tote front panel for a bold gift bagFill a canvas tote with february gifts and stitch LOVE across the front so the bag is part of the present
  • Denim jacket back yoke accentPlace it across the back yoke of a denim jacket, the thick outlines hold up well against heavy weave
  • Kids jeans leg strip embroideryRun the tall narrow size down the outer leg of kids jeans for a playful look that doesnt read as overtly seasonal
  • Canvas apron bib for a february market stallStitch the big version on a canvas apron bib for a february bake sale or craft market
  • Cushion cover face on a plain white throw pillowCentre it on a plain white cushion cover and the polka dot mix gives the pillow a handmade market feel
  • Sweatshirt front for a school valentines day outfitPut it on the front of a plain sweatshirt for a kid wanting something more personal than a generic print
  • Felt pennant banner for classroom decorationStitch onto thick felt, back with ribbon, and hang panels as a classroom valentines day banner
  • Tote bag handle panel running the tall format verticallyUse the 1.71 by 3.51 size vertically along a tote handle strap as a subtle repeating accent

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
