Came up with this LOVE patchwork design for the customers who want valentines day with some personality. The word is in chunky block letters, each one filled with a different pattern. The L and V go with a pink leopard spot fill, the heart-shaped O gets red polka dots, and the E has magenta with white dots. Two lil solid hearts sit either side like bookends.

Five colour stops so youre doing 5 thread changes at the hoop. Density is 2,330 which is quite high because of all the internal pattern stitching, you absolutely need a firm cutaway stabiliser on this one. Use a medium weight tearaway on top as topping if your fabric has any texture to keep the pattern lines crisp.

Only 3 sizes on this design: 5.51, 6.51 and 7.51 inches wide, ranging 1.88 to 2.56 inches tall. Its a wide and short design, perfect for going across a chest pocket, a hat brim or the front of a pencil case. Stitch count is 31,918 to 44,804 so budget proper time, the 7.51 inch version takes a good while with all those colour changes.

Customers ordering for their daughters valentines shirts go for this one alot, the patchwork pattern really appeals to younger wearers. Best on white or black fabric where the 5 colour fills show clearly. Back stretch jersey with a solid cutaway, keep your bobbin tension consistent or the polka dot fills can come out uneven. Try white cotton first if youre not sure, it shows every colour at its brightest.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
