MAMA in varsity letters, arched like they belong on the back of a team jersey. Each letter is wide and heavy with a solid red fill and a thick black border outline that separates the letters from whatever fabric sits behind them. Its not delicate at all. This one is meant to be seen from a distance, the kind of design that reads across a stadium car park as well as it does on the shelf.

Two colours, one colour change. Red goes down first as the full fill, then black runs the outline around each letter. Stitch count ranges from 12,000 at from 3 in baseline to 28,000 on the 9-inch version. Dense satin fill that close needs solid stabilising or the letters can bow in the middle, so dont skip the backing on this one regardless of what fabric you're using.

Goes best on white, black, navy, or grey. Any of those let the red really fire without competition. Stitch this on a sturdy woven fabric like canvas, denim, or thick cotton fleece. Avoid light jersey or thin knit because the heavy fill pulls the fabric under tension and you'll end up with a wavy surface. Back with a firm cutaway that extends at least an inch beyond the hoop edge so the satin columns stay locked in place.

I started selling this pattern last autumn and it gets ordered every mothers day, every birthday, and honestly just whenever someone wants to make a point. People keep asking me if the red can be swapped and yes, absolutely, just send me a note before you download and ill do a custom colour version at no extra cost.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
