Message me if you want this one in a different colour combination, a few customers have asked for coral and burgundy versions and its doable. This poppy is the full-bloom face-on version, petals fanned out wide, shaded from lighter scarlet at the outer edges through to a deeper crimson near the centre. Not a flat stamp, proper layered colour work.
The centre is near-black with a tight satin fill that pulls the whole thing together, two leaves at the base with dark green, a short curved stem. Four colours, 4 thread changes, and the density sits at 1,006 which gives the petals that raised silky look without being so heavy it buckles the fabric. I digitised this one to stitch well at the larger sizes where the petal shading realy needs to hold up across a bigger area.
I sold alot of these last summer to people making market stall gift items and botanical wall art, one customer ordered 3 copies because she wanted it on both a tote bag and a cushion cover aswell as a framed hoop. Five sizes, smallest is 2.83 inches wide by 3.51 tall, largest goes to 6.05 wide by 7.51 inches tall. Stitch count from 17,916 at the small end up to 45,714 at the full size.
Hoop it on a firm cutaway stabiliser, the density and the size at the larger end means anything less and the petals can pull off-grain. Cotton canvas, denim and medium-weight linen are all solid choices. Navy and white fabric are my top picks for this one, that deep crimson pops against both. Skip busy prints, this flower needs space to breathe.
