I made this one back in february after a customer kept asking for something that felt nostalgic but still worked on modern fabric colours. The bicycle is that classic diamond-frame road bike shape, you know it instantly, and the sunset behind it is digitised in five colours with directional fill stitches that give the sky its layered glow. Stitch counts run from 16,943 at the chest baseline up to 46,169 at the largest, so Heres the thing: this isnt a quick little fill job. Its built properly with underlay laid down first so the satin layers sit clean and dont sink into the fabric weave.

Nine sizes from 3.5 to top 7.5 mean you can run it on a jacket back, a tote, a pillow cover, or a small left chest placement. The density sits at 866 stitches per square centimetre aswell, which is medium-heavy, good for medium to heavyweight fabrics like denim, canvas, or a thick cotton twill. Pair it with a cutaway stabiliser on stretchy material and youre sorted. And if you want to use a topping on towelling or fleece, the sky gradients still read clearly because the colour bands are wide enough. Dont skimp on the stabiliser though, five colours means five thread changes and the hoop needs to stay still.

I get messages pretty regularly from people who stitch this on linen tote bags and say the coral-orange pops more than they expected. Alot of them are using it on canvas pouches too. So its genuinely versatile for something thats also quite specific in what it shows. The my standard software digitising means the stitch paths are efficient, fewer jumps, cleaner bobbin side. But for best results, use a fresh 75/11 needle and decent polyester thread for the metallic amber tones. Skip a blunt needle, it splits the satin fills on the horizon band and youll see it immediately on the test swatch.

Holler if you need a resize or something isnt opening right and Ill get it sorted fast.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Left chest denim jacket placementUse the 3.5 small on denim at left chest; cutaway stabiliser, 75/11 needle, polyester thread for the amber tones.
  • Canvas tote bag back panelThe 7.5-inch width fills a tote back panel perfectly; stabilise canvas with medium cutaway and hoop tightly.
  • Linen throw pillow centre designCentre the 5-6-in design on a 16x16 inch linen pillow cover; use tearaway stabiliser on tightly woven linen.
  • Cycling club shirt embroideryWorks beautifully at 4 inches on performance polo fabric with a light cutaway backing for club branding.
  • Framed hoop art vintage decorHoop the 7-in cap in a 10-inch wooden hoop on natural linen for a framed vintage wall piece.
  • Weekender bag front pocketThe 4-inch size fits a standard front pocket panel on a canvas weekender; satin sky bands read clearly at this scale.
  • Traveller journal fabric coverStitch the 3 in mini onto a stretched fabric journal cover using tearaway stabiliser over firm interfacing.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
