Its the old-school treadle-style sewing machine, the kind ya mum or nan would have had. Full silhouette fill so the whole body stitches in black. The body is dense and solid but then right there on the side sits a white sunflower, petals cut against the black fill. Thread spool sits up top, the needle arm extends out to the left, and the machine rests on a low flat base. Real vintage haberdashery feel.

Single colour, which honestly makes this one of the easiest designs in my catalogue for thread swaps. Black is classic but swap it to navy or charcoal and the mood shifts a lil. The sunflower stays white because its just negative space cut into the fill, so ya dont need a second colour change. The digitising uses tatami fill for the silhouette with the sunflower petals handled in satin columns, nine sizes from 2.51 inches up to 5.37 wide.

Last christmas a customer wrote me asking about thread swap options, and I started selling this one two Christmases ago, honestly it keeps coming back every year. Haberdashery shops and sewing supply stores use it for tote bags and gift wrapping. I get messages from 3 or 4 customers a month asking if there are alternate colourways. There arent, its a single thread job, but people keep reordering in different thread tones themselves which is the point.

Try it on cream cotton canvas, black denim, or natural linen. It reads especially strong on white or oatmeal fabric where the silhouette really pops against the ground. Skip busy patterned fabrics because youll lose the sunflower detail inside the machine body. Medium tearaway underneath wovens, no surprises. Hoop firm especially on the bigger 7.5-inch where the dense fill area can drag if the fabric isnt secure.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
