This volleyball design does exactly what a ball design should do: looks like the actual thing. The round shape breaks into the curved panel sections you'd recognise from any court, with white satin filling the main body panels, a yellow curved panel on one side, and a darker navy section on another. The black seam lines between each panel run as clean satin columns so they read crisp at any size. Its simple, well proportioned, and recogniseable even at the 1 inch size.

Six sizes total, ranging from 1 inch all the way up to 4 inches square. Stitch counts start at about 2,400 for the small size and climb to 16,000 for the full 4 inch version. Four thread colours needed: white, yellow, dark blue, and black. At the larger sizes the satin density is high, so the ball has a satisfying raised look when stitched out on cotton. I get messages from volleyball moms every August asking if it comes in smaller sizes for bags, which is why I kept all 6 size options in.

Stitch this on medium weight cotton, canvas, or polyester blend. Use cutaway stabiliser for stretch fabrics like team jerseys. For bags and caps try tearaway or a topping over slippery surfaces. Skip very thin fabrics because the fill at larger sizes can cause the fabric to gather.

Pop it on a sports bag, a cap, or a team gift tote. Email me if the file doesnt open correctly and Ill send you a replacement right away.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Volleyball team gear bags and drawstring packsAt 2-3 inches on a sports drawstring bag it identifies the bag as volleyball gear without any text needed.
  • Sports caps and bucket hats for team eventsCentred on the front panel of a cap it makes a clean team hat that coaches and players both appreciate.
  • Personalised player gift towels and pouchesOn a small cotton pouch or hand towel it becomes a low-cost personalised gift for end-of-season player presents.
  • Team matching tee shirts and tank topsStitched on the left chest of matching tees the ball works as a subtle sport identifier for team shirts.
  • Sports water bottle holders or coziesOn a fabric water bottle cozy or holder it adds a fun volleyball touch for players at practice.
  • Gym bag front panel accentA mid-size version on the front of a gym bag gives the bag a sporty identity at a glance.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
