Just the one flower. No stem, no leaves, no background. The whole design is a single gerbera daisy head, petals spreading out in all directions like someone pressed a real flower flat and then traced every vein. Each petal gets its own fine line detail running along the length of it, so even at a distance you can see the texture. The center is a packed raised cluster, tight little curved stitches that give it that seed-pod look up close.

Its all black. One colour, 0 colour changes, one stop at the end. The density is moderate at around 510 stitches per square inch so the thread coverage is honest without being heavy. The line work is the whole point here, delicate enough to look hand-drawn, structured enough to sit flat without puckering on a normal run. Biggest size runs about 24k stitches, smallest is just under 13k, so even the large version stitches out in a reasonable session.

The trims are pretty high, 170 on the biggest size, because all those individual petal detail lines get trimmed between them. Thats normal for line art and your machine handles it fine, but last year a customer mentioned it helps to drop the trim speed on older home machines to avoid thread breaks mid-petal. Keep that in mind if youre on an older domestic model.

Stitch it on white, cream or any pale fabric where black line work can do its thing. Avoid anything dark, you need the contrast. Hoop with a woven stabiliser you can tear away after stitching instead of a permanent cutaway, the light density doesnt need anything heavier and the tearaway leaves a cleaner back for frameable pieces. Send me a quick chat if your machine is struggling with the trim count at smaller sizes and Ill give you a few workarounds that work well with domestic hoops.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Framed botanical art and wall hangingsHoop a piece of natural linen in a 9-inch frame and stitch the 8-inch version for a frameable botanical print that looks gallery-ready
  • Linen tote bags with a hand-drawn botanical feelThe clean line art transfers beautifully onto a plain canvas tote without any of the heaviness that filled floral designs can have
  • Florist and garden shop branded tees and apronsGarden centres and florists use this kind of botanical style on staff aprons and branded tees, the single daisy is versatile and gender-neutral
  • Handkerchiefs and fine cotton napkinsStitch at the 4-in print on fine cotton or lawn handkerchiefs for a delicate gifting piece that looks considered and handmade
  • Minimal and Scandi-style home decor projectsPairs perfectly with neutral Scandinavian-style decor, stitch on unbleached linen and frame in a simple white mount
  • Greeting card and gift wrapping companion embroideriesA small 4-inch version stitched onto a card blank and given with a real flower makes a genuinely lovely handmade gift
  • Spring and summer wardrobe accessoriesRuns well on a cotton canvas summer tote or the pocket of a light linen shirt for a wearable botanical feel

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
