Three colours but the digitising tools digitising uses the density gradient across the mane and body to get a range of visual depth you wouldnt normally expect from such a limited palette. Density 802, nine sizes from 3.5 inches wide all the way 7.5 piece, stitch counts from 10,261 up to 34,333. The design is landscape-oriented so the proportions stay wide, at 7.5 inches wide by 5.71 inches tall the full-gallop scene really fills a decent hooping frame.
And because its just 3 colours the thread changes are minimal, you can run this from start to finish with two stops, which matters when youre doing a production run. Use midweight cutaway behind on denim and canvas fabrics where the longer satin mane runs need full support. On firm cotton twill tearaway works fine. The mane strands are stitched as individual floating satin columns, not one solid fill, so the fabric behind them still shows slightly, thats intentional and part of the motion effect.
I had a customer who does equestrian-themed gifts stitch this across a set of saddle-shaped cushions back in january, grading sizes from the 3.5-inch smallest on a throw pillow tag up to the full 7.5-inch version on the main cushion face. Avoid placing the horse right at the fabric edge, leave at least a 0.5-inch margin around the design boundary so the mane satin columns dont get caught in a seam.
The three-colour palette suits both dark and light ground fabrics, cream thread on chocolate brown denim reads as a negative-space version of this design and is a really strong look on equestrian accessories. Pick a thread that reads as high contrast against your base fabric and the galloping energy really comes through.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
