Its a loosely arranged hand-tied bouquet, the kind that looks like someone grabbed it from a meadow and wrapped a bit of twine round the stems. A big blush pink peony sits at the centre, all tight spiral centre with open outer petals, flanked by a coral-orange ranunculus and a pale lavender bloom. Smaller filler flowers, white daisies, blue forget-me-nots, tiny yellow clusters, fill the gaps between the main blooms. The stems cross and bundle at the base where the twine wraps, and a few stems trail below the knot the way real bunches do. Quite pretty honestly.

The density on the peony centre is the highest part of the design, the spiral stitch work there uses a fine underlay pass that has to go in before the top spiral layer or the centre collapses visually. Overall the design density runs around 820 stitches per cm sq. Use a cutaway stabiliser if youre hooping anything with any give in it, the overlapping petal fills in the peony can shift without proper anchoring. On canvas or linen a tearaway is fine and comes off cleanly.

A florist friend of mine ordered a set of these for personalised linen aprons she was making as gifts for her staff and said the bouquet read exactly the way she wanted, casual and real, not stiff and symmetrical. Stitch it on natural linen or cream cotton canvas for the most botanical-illustration feel. The 5 inch works well centred on a tote bag front, the 3.5 inch is nice on a pouch front or a corner pocket placement on an apron. Add topping on fleece or terry so the fine forget-me-not details dont sink into the texture.

Send me a quick note if the peony centre doesnt lay flat on your hoop.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Canvas tote front panelTote bags take the 5 inch nicely across the front panel, wide enough to fill the space without a second motif.
  • Linen table runner borderA customer used three repeats spaced along a cream cotton table runner last spring, looked like a printed botanical cloth.
  • Kitchen towel hem accentThe 7 inch spread runs along a linen kitchen towel hem edge with room to breathe on either side.
  • Cotton apron bibStitch it onto the bib front of a cotton canvas apron where the horizontal spread matches the width of the pocket line.
  • Denim jacket back yokePlace it across the back yoke of a denim jacket for a botanical border effect that stitches up clean on twill.
  • Spring wall hoop displayFrame it in a wide oval wooden hoop as a spring wall piece, the outline style reads beautifully without thread colour distraction.
  • Linen pillowcase edgeThe 4 inch version sits at the bottom edge of a linen pillowcase, subtle enough for everyday use.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
